This is the final week to nominate articles for the 2016 awards! Each day during‎ WritetoEndVAW‬ ‪#‎1Week2Go‬, we’ll be featuring a different award category.

Violence against women is often in the news; its prevalence and complex nature makes it a popular topic for feature writers. There has been some excellent feature writing this year which focuses on domestic abuse and we want to celebrate that writing.

The terms and conditions for this category are:

  • Author must have received financial compensation for the piece
  • Articles must be published, either in print or online, in a Scottish publication or primarily reaching a Scottish audience.
  • Article can be a comment, opinion or a more lengthy feature piece, i.e. a piece of writing intended to provide more analysis and context than a straightforward news piece.
  • Work may be published in any local or national Scottish publication.

It only takes five minutes to nominate yours or another’s writing. To find out how, please visit the How to Enter Page.
